Overberg wedding photographer

I always wanted to do a wedding in Heidelberg. This town lies 60kms from Swellendam towards George in the Western Cape.
One of the reasons I’ve always wanted to shoot a wedding here was the NG Kerk church. This church has always held my gaze since I first saw it. Seeing it, I knew that one day I would get to photograph someone’s celebration here. The other reason is I own a house here and always welcome a working holiday away from Cape Town!
Madrie and Bulla tied the knot here at this church this past Saturday. The ceremony kicked off at 4pm; I met Madrie the day before to check the quality of the light as it was getting dark earlier these days being winter. We looked at a few locations bearing in mind we only had about 30mins to play with! We shot some formal photos at the railway station and finished off at the showgrounds where the wedding reception was being held. The inside of the hall looked amazing and goes to show how some effort and creative talent can transform an old hall into a beautiful wedding venue. The rest of the evening went well with funny speeches, informal group pictures and the joyous union of an amazing couple. I wish them all the best for their life together.
