Jimmy Dludlu & Claire Phillips performed yesterday afternoon at Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town as a part of the Old Mutual Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts series.

The weather was perfect and a few thousand people came to show some good Cape Town love.

Claire was up first and by the sounds of things her upcoming album is well worth purchasing.

Jimmy is a cool cat, and his music speaks for itself, glad I got to meet him and hear his music live!

Alex and Liz decided long ago that The Olive House in Montagu would be the fitting venue for their intimate wedding.

The Olive House is a pretty venue and with ample accommodation available for guests it was a good choice.

The date was set for the 23rd December 2011 and the weather was ordered to be perfect.

I have a house in Heidelberg, Western Cape, just over Tradouws pass en route to Barrydale from Montagu along the famous R62 so I happily accepted the job as it allowed me to holiday at the same time.

The ceremony took place in the garden behind The Olive House where Elizabeth and her mom good quite easily have put most wedding planners to shame, it was that stunning, with so many little details that added to the whole feel of an intimate country wedding.

For the formal wedding photography photos we headed to the hole in the wall, an old British fort I think, at the start of Montagu where we dodged festive drivers and large transport lorries to take the creative wedding photos Liz had envisioned.

The wedding was a huge success and both Alex and Elizabeth were thrilled with their wedding photos.

Jeandre from Love at First Sight – Occasion decor, cakes and desserts – makes delicious treats for weddings and private high society parties and functions in Cape Town.

We got together again earlier today for another food shoot in Edgemead, Cape Town to photograph a few cakes for her blog and website.

She recently moved to Edgemead and now has space for a studio where she can conceptualise and turn out the imaginative party and decor ideas she does.

The studio is well lit and with a low white ceiling and white walls it provides ample light for food shoots.

Food, glorious food!

It was Napoleon Bonaparte who said an army marches on its stomach.

Recently Right 2 Know, a campaign by Civil Society in South Africa, to stop the passing of the Info bill/ what has become known as the ‘Secrecy Bill’ took place.

Thousands in Cape Town turned up on this Saturday morning to show their support against a corrupt government and the passing of said law.

I attended the march to support it rather than to take photos and I was suitable impressed by the turnout.

I happened to get this photo as I was sitting in the truck which was holding the Mic and speakers lol.

Photography has always been a passion of mine and documenting real life events is fun and worthwhile.
